Feminist therapy, Second edition

I was pleased to do this updated version of Feminist Therapy for APA’s Theories of Psychotherapy monograph series. In it, in addition to updated references on feminist psychology and feminist practice, I have included analyses of feminist practice in the age of increased awareness of intersectional identities, #MeToo and Black Lives Matter, and the effects of these and other emerging social movements on feminist practice. This volume explores feminist practice with gender-non-conforming people more directly than did the first edition. Finally, this book features some of my initial thinking about liberatory structures in psychotherapy, a concept that moves beyond egalitarianism and on which I am developing new theory. This book is a good choice for courses on feminist therapy or for psychotherapists and supervisors wishing to deepen their knowledge of feminist practice from an updated perspective, and replaces the first edition of the book.
