This presentation, part of the day-long Ethics workshop with co-presenters Phil Kinsler, Joan Golston, and Christine Courtois, will explore the particular ethical dilemmas that arise for clinicians working with clients who present with complex trauma and dissociation. My portion of the workshop will focus on how failures of therapist self-care create risks for boundary crossings, and ultimately boundary violations, in the context of traumatic and dissociative transference-countertransference dynamics.
